Payton, who stars at Neptune Beach (FL) Duncan U. Fletcher HS, is the latest player from Jacksonville who committed to Miami after ace area recruiter Todd Hartley made great moves. Da-U-val county, indeed!

A smooth 6’3” 180lb athlete, Payton has been at the top of Miami’s board for WR for quite some time. If you follow the visits — Coach Hartley was at Payton’s HS basketball game on the first day of the contact period, and Payton was just in Miami for yet another visit — this commitment shouldn’t be a surprise.

Already a top tier recruit, Payton committed to Miami over offers from many top programs, including (but not limited to) Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee. He is the 11th commit overall and 2nd WR in Miami’s 2019 class, joining Breion Fuller at that position group.
This is a good thing. This is a VERY good thing. Here are some HLs to prove that point.
