The Canes are officially dancing in March Madness

NCAA Basketball: Syracuse at Miami Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

After a 22-9 season, the Miami Hurricanes have been selected for the NCAA Tournament during the March Madness Selection Show. This is the 3rd consecutive year that the Canes have been selected for the NCAA Tournament.

When the bracket unveil finally came, we learned that the Canes are the 6 seed in the South Region. They will face Loyola-Chicago, the 11 seed, in the first round in Dallas, TX on Thursday

The winner of Miami vs Loyola-Chicago will play the winner of 3 seed Tennesssee- 14 seed Wright State for a berth in the Sweet 16. This is also the region with Virginia (whose style of basketball I openly hate, though I admit the quality of it this year).

So there you have it. Jim Larrañaga’s Canes are the 6 seed in the South Region. We’ll have plenty of analysis of the opening game, and Miami’s tournament hopes overall as we near Thursday’s opener.
