It hasn’t been a great few days for Miami Hurricanes recruiting by any means. And, that tough stretch continued on Tuesday morning when top ranked 2020 WR Leonard Manuel decommitted from Miami.
I will decommitting from the University of Miami , I would like to thank the coaching staff for accepting my commitment. @edwinfarmer1974 @kakiojackson @ChadSimmons_ @Andrew_Ivins

A 5-star caliber player from Ocala (FL) Vanguard HS — the same school that Canes Redshirt Freshman QB N’Kosi Perry attended — Manuel has all the tools to be an elite player at his position.
Manuel’s move to decommit removes a top tier WR from the Canes’ 2020 class. The group, with 8 commits and several blue chip players, is still ranked #1 in the early 2020 rankings, but losing Manuel is a big hit, make no mistake about it.
As has seemed to be the case with so any elite recruits recently, Georgia is trending up in Manuel’s recruitment following multiple visits to Athens, including last weekend.
Miami has been solid in recruiting recently, and improved under Mark Richt. But, at some point, the Canes are going to have to close the deal with 5-star players, especially those from South Florida or in-state, such as Manuel.
We’ll have more on Miami Hurricanes recruiting in the coming days.
