Miami Hurricanes Football: WR Ahmmon Richards named to Biletnikoff Award watchlist

Told you.

NCAA Football: Virginia at Miami Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Hurricanes junior WR Ahmmon Richards was named to the 2018 Biletnikoff Award watchlist the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc., announced Thursday.

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position – including wide receiver, tight end, slot back and running back - who catches a pass is eligible for the award. The award recipient is selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.

Richards, a freshman all-american in 2016, was named to this same watchlist last year. However, his production slipped due to injury, but he still impacted the games in which he played.

Simply put, Ahmmon Richards is a top 5 WR in CFB this year, and an elite talent no matter how you look at it. If healthy, Richards will undoubtedly remind people of his elite skills, and more closely resemble the player who broke Michael Irvin’s freshman receiving record at Miami than the player who hobbled around and saw that production cut in half as a sophomore.

Congrats to Ahmmon on being named to this watchlist.

Now it’s time to validate this high profile.
