Miami Hurricanes Football: C Tyler Gauthier named to Rimington Trophy Watchlist

Gauthier’s play will be key for the Canes in 2018

Watchlist season continued on Friday morning when Miami Hurricanes C Tyler Gauthier was named to the Rimington Trophy watchlist for 2018.

The Rimington Award, named for former Nebraska Cornhusker All-American Dave Rimington, is the award given annually to the best C in all of College Football.

A native of Venice, FL, Gauthier has become one of the mainstays on Miami’s offensive line. In the past, he split time between guard and center, but has found a home in the middle of the line.

Miami’s success on offense in 2018 will rely heavily on improved OL play, and Gauthier looks to lead the way for that improvement. After a summer of work, it’s now time to show and prove.
