Canes Hoops: Summer Twitter Recap

Former and current members of the Canes Hoops team have been busy this summer, and we keep you in the loop through their tweets.

While Canes Hoops has over 3 months before they hit the floor of the Watsco Center, current and former members have been spending time on the practice courts, signing with new teams, getting married, and so on. Let’s take a trip through all the notable summer moments with the program:

Lonnie Walker IV and Bruce Brown Jr in their new duds:

Detroit used the rookie photoshoot to also wish Bruce Brown Jr. a happy birthday

Canes Alumni signed with new teams:

Shane Larkin will play this season in Turkey after spending last year with the Boston Celtics.

As will Larkin’s former teammate Kenny Kadji

Kamari Murphy will play in Belgium after playing for the Nets’ G-League affiliate last year.

Julian Gamble will play in the top-tier level in France

Gamble also had some success with team Armored Athlete in The Basketball Tournament this July

Malcolm Grant is headed to Croatia to continue his pro career

Garrius Adams is working with the front office staff for the Lakers

Former Canes PG Gets Hitched

Alum Angel Rodriguez, who led the Canes to the Sweet 16 in 2016, got married at the beginning of the month, surrounded by his Canes family

Angel then found time to visit campus just over a week later, along with Shane Larkin

Angel and Shane weren’t the only alums to find their way back to campus this summer
