One last tune-up before ACC play. You know, the games that really, really matter. After dispatching Toledo in Ohio, the Canes should have no problem with FIU, even if it is Butch Davis’ homecoming. Here is your final news and notes before Miami moves to 3-1.

While details are still sketchy, Miami announced yesterday that Mount St. Mary’s transfer guard Miles Wilson was removed from the team. In his last year at The Mount he averaged almost 12 points and four rebounds, numbers that would be welcome on a team replacing guards Ja’Quan Newton and Lonnie Walker.
Gerald Willis ‘as good as anybody’ CMR’s Canes have had

That was the headline from the Palm Beach Post and it was from the mouth of DC Manny Diaz. Willis has been a dominating force since getting back on the field and looks better than the two guys who started at DT in 2017, Kendrick Norton and RJ McIntosh. As long as Willis keeps up his dominant play, it should make the rest of the D-lineman’s jobs a lot easier.
Miami, FIU Meeting for First Time in Eleven Years
In previewing this game, the Miami Herald took special notice to remind us all that this match-up has been 11 years in the making and 12 years since the brawl. And while Butch Davis may not have much to say about it, he will likely give it his very best shot in what should be FIU’s biggest game all season. Yes, even bigger than a bowl game.
That’s all for today Canes’ fans, enjoy the game and remember –
