After taking the Tar Heels to the woodshed Thursday night, today is the rare Saturday to kick back and watch some non-Miami football games. Still though, the train never stops here at SOTU so here are your updates following Miami’s victory and moving on to FSU week.
Thursday Night Celebration Lit
It’s safe to say that Miami enjoyed their blowout win in their first ACC game of 2018. Hell, even Coach Richt got in on it (kinda)!

Their Own Biggest Critics
The Miami Herald is reporting that even after a solid first start from RS Freshman N’Kosi Perry and a historic defensive performance, the Canes are still their own biggest critics. The Sun Sentinel had similar thoughts, though focused on a defense that scored three TDs but gave up a lot of rushing yards, especially to the Quarterback Chazz Surratt. This is the mindset that a team like this, with a schedule like this, needs to have the rest of the way. Miami will likely be favored in every game going forward; the only way they trip up (again) is by their own doing.
Miami Staying Home for the Holidays?
The Herald, looking way too far ahead, discussed the possibility of Miami finding themselves in a playoff berth. And not just in the playoffs either, but being able to play a game in their home stadium, which would be the first time in the history of the CFP. Like a team playing a home game in the Super Bowl, this seems near-impossible. However, Miami’s chances aren’t zero. That week one loss to LSU doesn’t seem to so bad with how well the Tigers have played and if the Canes finish undefeated in ACC play, all bets are off. Perhaps the only team standing in the way of a home game playoff matchup? The other Tigers we know and love.
That’s it today, enjoy the stress-fresh Saturday and remember -
