At 6’4” 204lbs, Matocha has good size and nice athleticism for the QB position. Not only does Matocha have good size, but he has outstanding on-field performance as well. As a senior, Matocha completed 253 of 440 passes (57.5% completions) for 3697 yards, 35 TDs and 13 INTs, while adding 146 carries for 787 yards and 14 TDs rushing.
The most prolific passer in @STHCatholic history played his last game for @STHFootball yesterday. QB @peyton_matocha passed for 3,692 yards and 35 TDs in his senior season. He also rushed for 804 yards and 14 TDs. 4469 total yards and 49 total TDs. He is an absolute weapon. pic.twitter.com/2LMsl9SdYp

Matocha is a new name for Miami recuriting fans to know, and that’s based on his prior connection to Dan Enos from the coach’s time at Arkansas. One of the first players Enos contacted after taking the OC/QB coach job at Miami was Matocha, and things progressed quickly to this weekend’s official visit and today’s commitment.
Matocha is the 3rd QB to join the Canes this offseason. Former 5-star recruit Tate Martell transferred to Miami from Ohio State, and JUCO QB Carson Proctor will join the team as a preferred Walk-On.
Miami is doing what I and many others have said they needed to do: throw numbers at the QB problem in search of an answer. With 5 scholarship players and a PWO battling for the job, every player will be pushed to raise their performance, which would hopefully help Miami right the ship at this position.
