In a bit of a shocking development, Ft. Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas 3-star DT Jason Muñoz has flipped from Miami to Syracuse.
BREAKING: Syracuse lands 3-star DL Jason Munoz (@JasonMunoz_STA) out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida. Crazy story. Signed early with Miami, got out of his NLI after coaching changes there, officially visited Syracuse this weekend and committed. https://t.co/QWscJvqidp pic.twitter.com/TqSXwYlKgI

Muñoz signed early with Miami, but was released from his NLI after the coaching change from Mark Richt to Manny Diaz according to Syracuse’s 247sports site. That release led to a secret visit to Syracuse last weekend, and today’s flip commitment.
At 6’4” 274lbs, Muñoz has good size. Playing for powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas, Muñoz had 21 tackles, 5 TFLs, and 3 sacks in an injured plagued senior season.
With Muñoz’s flip, Miami has 2 DTs in the 2019 recruiting class: 4-star Jason Blissett and 3-star Jalar Holley.
Miami continues to shape the 2019 recruiting class ahead of National Signing Day on February 6th.
We wish Jason Muñoz the best in his future endeavors.
