On Thursday morning, Miami Hurricanes DE Joe Jackson announced that he has signed with an agent, forgoing his senior season to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jackson has signed with Jay-Z’s RocNation Sports agency for his representation.

A 4-star recruit out of Miami (FL) Gulliver Prep, Jackson was an elite player from day 1 for Miami. He factored in the DE rotation immediately as a freshman, and was a starting player for the majority of his 3 years in Coral Gables.

Jackson ends his stellar Miami career with 129 tackles, 35.5 TFLs, 22.5 Sacks, 1 INT (returned for a TD), 5 PBUs, 5 FF, 2 FR (including one returned for a TD).

Obviously, Miami would have preferred Jackson to return to Miami and be an anchor on the Canes’ DL. But, with a probable top 2 round NFL Draft grade, the opportunity was too good for the 6’5” 260lb Jackson to pass up.

Congratulations on a great career in Miami, and all the best on the next step, Joe!
