Miami lost out on yet another top target today when Miami (FL) Southridge 4-star DB Tyrique Stevenson announced his commitment to the University of Georgia.

This is yet another loss for Miami of a top local player. The list of misses locally in recent years is long, including guys like Jerry Jeudy, Calvin Ridley, Amari Cooper, Patrick Surtain II, Tyson Campbell, and the list goes on.
Throughout his recruitment, Stevenson was said to be between Miami and Georgia, with each team holding the top spot for a time. Stevenson recently said the teams were tied atop his recruitment, and a late surge by Georgia has him going to Athens, not Coral Gables.
This is the 2nd whiff for Miami today. 4-star DE Khris Bogle committed to Alabama earlier on in the All-American Bowl.

This is the kind of thing that cannot continue. Miami CANNOT keep missing on the top players locally. And hopefully, under new Head Coach Manny Diaz, they won’t.
