Welcome back to the SB Nation and State of the U FanPulse Top 25 rankings.

SB Nation put the call out to fans from all CFB team sites to rank their top 25, and here’s the results after week 6.

Welcome to the #2 spot, LSU! After beating the Florida Gators — and hanging 40 points on them in the process — Ed Orgeron’s team vaults Clemson up into 2nd. There are plenty of unbeaten teams at the top, so the end of October and November should be chock full of great and meaningful games.

As for Miami, we’re not ranked yet. BUT after beating Virginia, Miami is only 1 game back in the ACC Coastal. So there’s still hope for a Coastal Division Championship, and plenty o play for yet this season for the Canes. Here’s our SOTU Top 25:

Friday Night’s win against Virginia was absolutely massive on so many levels. We can keep it simple and just point out the fact that it gave Manny Diaz his first ACC win as a coach, and kept the season alive. And, it was a win over a ranked team, as the Cavaliers were 20th coming into the game and are still 24th after the loss. So, that’s a good start to righting the ship.

This week’s confidence poll reflects that performance and hints that the future outlook may be improving, as well.

An abysmal 26.2% after losing to Virginia Tech, the confidence poll rebounds to a robust 75.6% after beating Virginia. That’s a well-earned — and MASSIVE — bump, and indicative of the improvement seen on the field. No, it wasn’t perfect, but Miami started to look like MIAMI again, and that is a big, BIG step in the right direction.

Onward, upward, and forward we go.

Georgia Tech, you’re next.
