Week 8 College Football Lines and Picks

I mean....it’s got to get better, right?

NCAA Football: Virginia at Miami Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Week 7 was a kick in the trousers, as Notre Dame, Georgia, and Iowa’s slim failures in their respective bets sealed a 3-7 disaster, putting us at 30-38-2 on the season. We are and can do much better here, folks. Promise. Or, at least I hope. There are some juicy road favorites at flailing Power 5 bottom feeders to feast upon this week, so let’s have at it...

Lock of the Week

Missouri -21 at Vandy - Speaking of horrific power 5 teams, Vandy lost 34-10 at home to UNLV last week. As Lee Corso would say: yo.

Other Lines I like

Georgia Tech +18 at Miami. Miami really, REALLY oughta cover this, but until Miami shows some semblance of a killer instinct, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Minnesota -29 at Rutgers. Is Rutgers the worst power 5 team of the last half century They just might be. PJ Fleck’s team rows boat in and out of Piscataway with their easiest win of the year - and a cover.

Tulane at Memphis -3.5. Tulane has been a nice story this year, but the Tigers bounce back this week in the Liberty Bowl.

Texas A&M -6 at Mississippi - After facing Saban’s cyborgs last week, Ole Miss players will seem like they’re moving in slow motion for A&M.

Teasers I like

Florida at South Carolina +12.5; Florida State +8 at Wake Forest

Michigan at Penn State, Under 53.5; Arizona State +20.5 at Utah

Wisconsin -25 at Illinois; Arizona at USC -3

Kentucky at Georgia, Over 38.5; Oregon at Washington, Over 41

Parlay of the Week

Moneylines were made for parlays, and this 8-gamer has all but one team as a 17-or-more-point favorite and pays out at almost 6 to 5. As for the other, I’ll happily bet against Michigan in a big game any day.

Michigan at PENN STATE

LSU at Miss State

Tulsa at CINCY

MIZZOU at Vandy

Kentucky at GEORGIA

Kansas at TEXAS

Ga Tech at MIAMI

AUBURN at Arkansas
