One of the biggest rivalries in South Florida high school football will take place tonight and will feature six Miami Hurricane verbal commitments.

Miami Northwestern (3-2) will take on Miami Central (4-1) tonight at 7:30pm at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami. Each team is undefeated against Florida High School Athletic Association competition with their combined three losses coming to either out-of-state teams or Bradenton IMG Academy.

Northwestern features four Hurricane verbal commitments in 2020 wide receiver Marcus Fleming, 2021 wide receiver Romello Brinson, 2021 tight end Kahlil Brantley and 2021 defensive back Tim Burns Jr. Central sports two future Hurricanes in 2021 verbal commitments Laurence Seymore and Chamon Metayer.

Northwestern lost to Central 38-10 during the 2018 regular season but avenged that loss with a 19-15 victory over the Rockets in the 2018 Region 6A-4 championship en route to winning the Class 6A state championship. The teams are now in different classifications so this will be the only time they meet this season.

To see where Manny Diaz’s other verbal commitments and players to watch will be playing this weekend, keep reading.
