FanPulse Top 25 — Week 6

It’s gonna be a while until the Canes are ranked here.....or anywhere.

Welcome back to the SB Nation and State of the U FanPulse Top 25 rankings.

SB Nation put the call out to fans from all CFB team sites to rank their top 25, and here’s the results after week 6.

Off a bye week, Alabama stays atop the rankings. The chalk at the top stays largely the same.

As for Miami, well....things are not good. Instead of making a push toward getting back in our site and the national FanPulse top 25s, the Canes lost to Virginia Tech and are in a bad/dangerous spot at 2-3 on the year. Here’s our SOTU top 25:

Those are fine. A collection of ACC fans have Clemson at #1 still. That’s fine. Whatever.

As for this week’s confidence poll, things continue to trend in a downward direction. With the losses mounting on the season, this should be no surprise.

After staying around 68% for the last 2 weeks, Miami fan confidence plummeted to just 26.2% following this week’s loss to Virginia Tech. And, honestly, I think that’s a little high. I’ve been telling you that I’ve personally been voting “no confidence” ever since the UNC game, because the issues have been clear. At 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the ACC, many of you now join me in that thought.

Miami’s 2019 season is perilously close to going COMPLETELY off the rails. Manny Diaz is taking back control of the defense. There is a legitimate argument to switch QBs. Miami’s kicker can’t make kicks. Talented players sit idly by on the sidelines while bottom-of-the-roster former walk-ons or current walk-ons are playing meaningful snaps in games that matter.
