George had a breakout season for Plantation High in leading the Colonels to the Region 7A-4 semifinals before losing to Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.
According to Andrew Ivins of InsideTheU, George had 46 catches for 1,030 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior during the 2019 season. He also rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns.
Manny Diaz still holds verbal commitments from Hialeah’s Fred Eaford and Miami Northwestern’s Romello Brinson and Kahlil Brantley at the WR/TE position for the 2021 recruiting class.
The timing of the decommitment would seem to coincide with Miami’s embarrassing 30-24 loss to Florida International on Saturday night at Marlins Park.
Immediately after the game, 2020 defensive lineman Tre’von Riggins of St. Petersburg Lakewood announced his decommitment from Miami. Contact between Miami and Riggins had greatly slowed in recent months and the decommitment was not unexpected, Ivins reported.
