Miami lost out on a top target moments ago when Upland (CA) 5-star LB Justin Flowe committed to the Oregon Ducks.
Justin Flowe reaches for Miami hat, which was only to delay his real pick. Oregon.

While this loss isn’t a local player (as has been the case oh so many times recently), it’s a big miss for Miami. With all 3 senior starting LBs graduating, Miami needs to restock the talent at that position. And there is no better player at this position of great need in this recruiting class than Flowe, a singular talent whose mere signature on an NLI raises the level of talent on the roster of the team he’s picked.
Instead of being a program defining recruit for Miami, Flowe is staying on the West Coast and going to Oregon. This yet another big-time recruiting win for Ducks Coach Mario Cristobal, who just last year closed on 5-star DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, and earlier this cycle got another 5-star LB — Noah Sewll from Orem, UT.
The Ducks’ West Coast recruiting machine marches on, and the Canes are left looking for another place to find the talent they need to compete, and win, at a high level.
Onward we go.
