4-star DB Jaiden Francois commits to Nebraska over Miami

No 3rd commitment to The U for Francois.

Bye, Jaiden.

After having committed to, and decommitted from, Miami twice already, Homestead (FL) South Dade 4-star DB Jaiden Francois had a decision to make on Early Signing Period day 1: commit to Miami for a 3rd time (no, not a typo), or commit to Nebraska, his other named finalist.

In a ceremony at South Dade Senior High School just moments ago, Francois announced his decision. He’ll be taking his talents to Lincoln, NE to play for Scott Frost’s Cornhuskers.

This is a miss for Miami, a team that needs talent in the secondary. And, Francois is a local player, and one that was TWICE previously committed to The U, so that makes it sting more.

But, on the flip side, this is a kid who decommitted from Miami in the hopes to commit to Ohio State or Florida earlier this year. Neither school accepted his commitment, and Francois’s search continued.

Maybe it was pride for not wanting to come back and commit to a school for a 3rd time, maybe it was a random desire to get away from South Florida and go somewhere new. Maybe....maybe it was a lot of things. But regardless of the reason, Francois is heading to Big Ten country, and the Canes are still looking for more DBs in the 2020 recruiting class.

We wish you all the best, Jaiden.

Back to focusing on Miami for me, though.
