Good Morning Canes Familia,

Welcome to Febraury. There’s plenty of news to catch on this week as we’re officially six days away from National Signing Day. As you can imagine, today’s headlines revolve around UM Football attempting to close out strong on the recruiting trial. So enough of the banter, here we go!

Final Official Visit Weekend Before NSD

With only days remaining until the fax machines at the Football offices get fired up for National Signing Day, the Hurricanes are making one last push to land some coveted playmakers in the 2019 recruiting class. One of the notable names scheduled to be on campus this weekend is Cardinal Gibbons DE Khris Bogle. Currently committed to Alabama, Bogle may have given his verbal pledge to the Crimson Tide at Army All-American Bowl last month, but the top-100 prospects has not signed a letter of intent, continuing the free-for-all to sway Bogle’s opinion. Getting a visit in this final weekend before NSD is huge for Miami. Let’s hope that Manny Diaz and his staff can close this one out with a monumental flip.

While closing out strong on the 2019 cycle remains a priority, there will also be prospects from the 2020 class that will take a visit to Coral Gables over the weekend.

Key Target Set To Announce

Three-star DT prospect Jared Harrison-Hunte is set to announce where he plans to attend this afternoon around four o’clock EDT. The Christ The King Regional New York High School star is believed to be a heavy lean towards the Hurricanes, after taking two official visits to UM’s campus.

Should Harrison-Hunte choose to attend Miami, it would be the third prospect from the Big Apple in the 2019 class to commit to The U, following teammate T Adam ElGammel and Poly Prep DT Jason Blissett from Brooklyn, New York.

Are They Still Targets?

It’s been a while since the Canes dipped into the Transfer Portal. A pair of targets, former Virginia Tech DE Trevon Hill and UCLA LB/DE Jaelan Phillips have been long rumored to be targets of the Hurricanes. Despite the radio silence, there’s still interest among the fanbase to land either or both players on UM’s roster. This could ultimately come down to how well the Canes close out the 2019 cycle and if there are scholarships left to hand out after the fact.
