Dan Enos was the quarterbacks coach at Alabama when Carson Beck gave the Crimson Tide his commitment back in late June 2018. Today, Beck announced his intentions to look elsewhere as his recruiting process continues. Miami and Florida are battling for his next commitment, which will likely come before summer.

As a junior at Mandarin, Beck passed for 3,546 yards and 39 touchdowns with eight interceptions while leading his school to their first ever state championship with a 37-35 win over Miami Christopher Columbus. He threw five touchdowns in the game and was later named Mr. Football in the state of Florida.
This is clearly a guy that Miami is going to prioritize. The relationship with Enos helps a lot, but he was previously committed to the Gators back when he played baseball, so there is a certain level of admiration on his side for them.
Beck’s recruitment is going to be one that Miami fans are going to be invested in moving forward. A win here over Florida and Alabama would have a tremendous carry-over effect on the rest of the class. He would certainly be a solid foundation for Manny Diaz and Enos that could help reel in guys that want to play with him.
Another recruitment to follow leading up to Wednesdays signing day is Louisiana DB Christian Williams’. Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports Director of Recruiting, put in a Crystal Ball prediction for Williams to spurn Alabama and LSU for the Hurricanes when he makes his announcement. I cannot confirm or deny the legitimacy of that prediction, but Wiltfong has accurately predicted commitments 91.1% of the time this class.
Williams would be a steal for the Hurricanes and would arguably be Mike Rumph’s greatest recruiting job.

As far as other prospects go, I, like many others, am approaching Wednesday with little to no expectations. Khris Bogle, Mark-Antony Richards, Darius Washington, Martin Emerson Jr., Kaiir Elam, and even Christian Williams are all likely to choose other schools.

That is all for me today. Happy Tuesday and Go Canes!
