“4-star ATH/RB Mark-Antony Richards, Wellington (FL). Everybody here knows the name and the story. The multi-talented younger brother of Ahmmon Richards, MAR is a dynamic player who can impact games on either side of the ball. He wants to play RB, and is being recruited at that position by Miami and everybody else. There’s been talk that Miami pushing for and getting 2020 4-star RB Don Chaney Jr. to commit means they wouldn’t push for Richards, but I’m not buying it. Miami’s been in on Richards from jump, and you build a championship roster by stacking talent, not by letting it walk away in favor of a player who can’t sign for AT LEAST another 10 and a half months.”
“The Canes will be without several starters from last years o-line, though they’ve brought in former Tampa Bay Buccaneers OL coach Butch Barry to the same position.
Miami landed offensive tackle grad transfer Tommy Kennedy from Butler as well three lineman signed in the recruiting class of 2019, but more needs to be done, and more lineman need to be added. This unit was a major concern last season, and several spots on the line will be without veterans and proven players.”
“If you were playing the Miami Hurricanes from 1998 to 2001, you knew one thing, you weren’t passing on cornerback Mike Rumph. A three-time All Big-East selection, Rumph helped the Canes capture the schools fifth national championship, while turning into one of America’s elite corners.
Now back at UM after a career in the NFL, this time as a coach, Rumph is passing along his lockdown knowledge at the position to his players. Since joining the Miami staff in 2016, Rumph has assisted in turning the Hurricanes defense into the one of the nations best.”
“14. Miami Hurricanes (LW: 14) 9-12 (1-8)
Last Week: L vs VT 70-82, L vs UVA 46-56; Next Week: vs ND 2/6, @ UNC 2/9
ACC Leader In...: Least Rebounds - there probably isn’t a more accurate stat for showing the frontcourt depth problem the Canes have this season.”
