Good Morning Canes Familia,

We’re just a few days away from the start of spring practice for Hurricanes Football. In the meantime, Miami baseball has been red hot and Women’s Basketball waits to be seeded for March Madness. So let’s dive into these headlines.

Manny Diaz Breaks Down His Expectations for Spring

On Thursday, Manny Diaz was the guest on the Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM. Miami’s head coach outlined some of his expectations for spring practices, which begin on March 19th. Christy Chirinos of the Sun Sentinel recaps Diaz’s approach to his first spring as a head coach and some of the big questions surrounding the program.

Baseball Open Three-Game Series Against UNC

After winning both of their two games against Jackson State during the week, the Hurricanes (14-3) are back on the road to continue conference play. The bats will be swinging in Chapel Hill, North Carolina this evening when the Canes take on the (14-4) Tar Heels. Miami currently sit at 2-1 in ACC play coming off of last week’s series against Georgia Tech. It wouldn’t be Friday night Hurricanes’ baseball without junior P Evan McKendry taking the mound. McKendry will be looking for his fourth win of the season.

State of the U’s own John Reynolds broke down the Canes win against Jackson State earlier in the week.

ESPN Predicts Canes Women’s Basketball as a #3 Seed

Selection Monday will give the Miami Women’s Basketball the officially word on where they’ll be headed for March Madness. In the meantime, ESPN’s Charlie Creme’s Bracketology has the Canes as the third seed of the Portland region. Meaning the Hurricanes could open the first round playing at home.

At 1PM EDT you can catch the UM Men’s Tennis try to ruin the luck of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Coming off an impressive wins against Florida State last weekend in Orlando, the Canes will try establish a win streak at the expense of their ACC rivals.

Hurricanes Track and Field were able to make some noise last weekend at the 2019 Indoor National Championships. Today Canes Track and Field is set to host the Hurricane Invitational meet. This marks the first competition for the team as part of the outdoor portion of 2018-19 season.

Have a Great Day and Go Canes!
