Goooooood morning Canes fam!
ACC play has started for the baseball squad, a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to Georgia Tech, while ACC play in men’s basketball ends with a frustrating 84-70 beating at the hands of Virginia Tech. The Lady Canes’ didn’t fair much better, falling to Syracuse by a score of 92-85 in the ACC Quarterfinals. So while Miami’s teams don’t have a win between them after Friday, we will look ahead to the near future for optimism! Here are your news and notes.

In 2019, the Hurricanes may rely heavily on the running backs and for good reason, the room is good. #TheU #GoCanes @13kDeeJay @d1champ99 https://t.co/xkrfznG6UO pic.twitter.com/SLVEujur0u

A tough loss for the baseball team at the start of ACC play but they have a chance to even up the record vs GT tonight.
Hof and Mompremier combined for 52 points on 21-of-31 shooting, but the Orange's 3-point barrage was too much for Miami in its #ACCWBB Tournament opener. https://t.co/RR3gFdsUL4

Though the Lady Canes end their ACC tournament hopes a little prematurely, they will have a far greater chance to advance to the tourney than the men, following an exciting season and two huge wins over top 5 teams.

Just cause it’s winter doesn’t mean the football team sleeps or leaves the Rock unprotected. #TNM

PFF says Gerald Willis III is very, very good. We been knew.
The Miami Herald gives a great tribute for Jim Morris and break down of the close defeat Miami had at the hands of Georgia Tech.
The NCAA isn’t playing fair when it comes to their Tate Martell decision, or lack thereof. Go figure.
In some news and notes of their own, the Herald also gives some good spring news - though LB De’Andre Wilder will not participate after last season’s neck injury, Lorenzo Lingard will be a full go! Hopefully Wilder will be able to show something in live action during the 2019 season.
That’s all for today Canes familia, enjoy your weekend and remember...
