It looks as if the hype for the 2019 Miami Hurricanes isn’t just coming from those who are supporters of the UM program. 247Sports came out this past weekend with their early bowl predictions for the upcoming college football season, and has the Canes playing in the Capital One Orange Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines.
Early Bowl Projections for 2019 (via @247Sports):

Peach Bowl: (1) Clemson vs (4) Georgia
Fiesta Bowl: (2) Alabama vs (3) Oklahoma
——————————————————
Cotton Bowl: Notre Dame vs UCF
Orange Bowl: Michigan vs Miami
Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs Oregon
Sugar Bowl: Florida vs Texas
Now this definitely comes as a surprise to me, only because not even two weeks ago, I was sitting here writing about how Miami was already underdogs to FSU. Though it’s apparent that others across the country is noticing what head coach Manny Diaz is building in Coral Gables.
The last time the Hurricanes played in the Orange Bowl of course was the 2017 season, in which Miami fell to Wisconsin 34-24, ending the year with a 10-3 record. In the 80’s and 90’s, the Canes were regulars when it came to playing in the Orange Bowl, playing in five from 1984 to 1995. However, 2017 saw Miami’s first appearance in the famous bowl game since the 2003 season.
Now of course we always want Miami to end up in the College Football Playoff each season, but just imagine if the Hurricanes were able to go from 7-6 in 2018, to playing in the Orange Bowl the following year under a first year head coach. Now that sounds like incredible progress to me.
Miami predicted to go to the Orange Bowl......yeah I’ll take it https://t.co/5D7ev8cevZ
