The AAF might have shutdown, but thankfully we still have ‘Canes spring football to hold us over until August. The ‘Canes are rebuilding the offense and trying to figure out who is the starting quarterback and how to get the best five linemen on the field at the same time.
SOTU
Our Kevin Fielder covered the offensive side of the football with, “The Hurricanes need to use speed as an identity on offense.” It’s a no brainer that when you have South Florida talent you have speed. Hopefully this offensive staff figures that out.
Our Dylan Sherry took defense with his post titled, “Al Blades Jr. Looks to Become a Leader on Miami’s Young Secondary.” I’m very excited for Al Jr. and this post will get you fired up for week 1.
Local Rags
Christy Cabrera Chirinos has a post up called, “UM’s 17-year-old WR Jeremiah Payton turning heads in spring drills.”
Christy also has a piece for the Sun Sentinel called “Miami’s QBs are progressing, but ‘not even close’ to where they need to be.” She’s doing great work covering ‘Canes spring football.
The Herald’s Michelle Kaufman wrote a piece called, “UM forward Beatrice Mompremier makes decision on whether to enter WNBA Draft” The ‘Canes star is staying in Coral Gables.
The Herald’s Susan Miller Degnan wrote, “Manny Diaz on Rule No. 1 of Miami’s QB situation: ‘Don’t burn the building down’”
