Before he was hauling in passes from Peyton Manning and the Colts, Reggie Wayne was doing the same thing for the Hurricanes and Scott Covington. As perhaps the greatest receiver to ever come through Miami, Wayne gave us incredible moments that as Canes fans we’ll never forget.
One of those plays came in 1998, as the Hurricanes were hosting Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl. In a neck-and-neck contest, Miami was trailing the Hokies, as the Canes had the ball deep in their own territory.

The 84-yard touchdown pass is the seventh longest in UM history, and the longest play in Wayne’s career at Miami. It was also one of 20 touchdowns Wayne caught throughout his career while in Coral Gables.
