Canes Hoops landed another transfer Tuesday in former Cincinnati center Nysier Brooks according to ESPN.com. The 6’11” Philadelphia-native started 35 games for the Bearcats last season, averaging 8.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as his squad reached the NCAA tournament.

The move comes after Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin announced in April that he is leaving the program to become the new head coach at UCLA. Brooks will have to sit out the upcoming season before becoming eligible for the 2020-21 season, which will be his final year of eligibility.

Brooks becomes the 4th transfer on the Canes roster along with Anthony Mack (from Wyoming), Kameron McGusty (from Oklahoma), and Keith Stone (from Florida). Mack McGusty and Stone are all eligible for the upcoming season.
