Standing 5’10” 223lb, Flagg Jr. may lack ideal height for the position, but he makes up for it with quickness, physicality, and instincts. As a junior for State Champion North Shore, Flagg Jr. had a standout season with 144 tackles, 33 TFLs, 4 sacks, 4 FF, and 5 FR. That’s impactful if not dominant performance in every possible area of defense.
A first team all-District performer in 2018, Flagg Jr. committed to Miami after taking an Official Visit to Miami over the June 15-16 weekend, and picked the Canes over 15 other offers, including Oklahoma State, Purdue, Virginia Tech, and Boston College, among others.
Flagg Jr. joins Largo (FL) Pinellas Park 3-star Alvin Mathis as LB commits in this class. Miami willbe losing all 4 starting LBs (including STRIKER Romeo Finley), so depth and talent is needed at this position in this class. Both Mathis and Flagg Jr.have the ability to play at Miami, but additional depth and talent is still needed.
With the addition of Flagg Jr., Miami’s 2020 recruiting class now stands at 16 commits. The group is ranked 5th nationally and 2nd in the ACC, trailing only the recruiting machine known as Clemson.
