Paradise Camp Weekend

Miami’s annual Paradise Camp will get under way this weekend. State of the U’s Kevin Fielder gives you a primer of the star-studded showcase in the Paradise Camp Preview coming to the site later this morning.

After being held at Greentree Practice Fields in past iterations, Paradise is on the move to Hard Rock Stadium.

On Thursday Miami’s position coaches began to reveal some of the Hurricane alumni that’ll be in attendance.

Hernandez Headed to the North

The 2019 NBA Draft was held on Thursday night. After missing his entire junior year because of an NCAA suspension, Dewan Hernandez be taking his talents north of the border. The 2019 McDonald’s All-American was selected in the second round by the Toronto Raptors. Hernandez worked out for the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers during the evaluation process.

After it was announced a few weeks ago that Miami Men’s Basketball would take on the Illini in the ACC/Big Ten challenge, it was UM Women’s Basketball turn to learn who they would face in the challenge.

The Canes will host the Indiana Hoosiers on December 4th at the Watsco Center. UM owns a 2-1 series lead over IU, with Miami winning the last meeting in 2015 by the score of 89-75.

Renate Grimstead and Kristyna Frydlova of Miami’s Golf Team were named to the All-ACC Academic team for the sport. Jackie Lippincott, Autumn Kramer and Meredith Costello were named to the Women’s Rowing All-ACC Academic team.

The schedule for Miami Women’s Volleyball was released on Monday. The Hurricanes will take part in four tournaments next season including their Hurricane Invitational in September.
