On Friday night, defensive lineman Elijah Roberts (2020) out of Columbus High School in Miami (FL) became the first recruit to commit at Paradise Camp. The announcement from Roberts came after UM’s Paradise Party at Hard Rock Stadium.

Roberts joins the 2020 recruiting class which is ranked seventh nationally, and is the fourth defensive lineman in the class, along with Lakewood (FL) Tre’Von Riggins, Chaminade-Madonna Prep (FL) Willie Moise and Miami Carol City (FL) Samuel Anaele. Just like Riggins and Anaele, Roberts is also a strong-side defensive end.

Miami first offered Roberts in March of 2018, which he then committed the first time in June a few months later. He then de-committed in October of 2018. Though, he stayed close to Miami and worked out with new DL coach Todd Stroud two weeks ago at one of Manny Diaz’s summer camps.

Roberts is listed 6-3, 267 pounds, and is an absolute force when it comes to rushing the quarterback. 247Sports has Elijah as the nation’s No. 17 strong-side defensive end.
