2000 was the first season that the Hurricanes would be able to be in the national spotlight again, and in week five Butch Davis and his team faced their toughest test yet, when FSU came to town.
Being ranked #1 in the country and defending national champions, the Seminoles were favorites over Miami. Though, the Canes came out strong, holding a 17-0 lead near the end of the first half.
With Chris Weinke leading the FSU offense late in the second quarter, Miami All-American linebacker Dan Morgan stepped up.
