One of the longest tenured commits in Miami’s 2020 recruiting class, Anaele told Ivins that he decommited from Miami on Thursday. He further stated that Miami will be on his list of teams moving forward.
At 6’4” 247lbs, Anaele will incredibly well built and uses his size well on the field. The Nigerain native looks the part of a starting DE right now, and has for a couple years already.
However, the contact between Miami and Anaele had broken down over time. His visit to campus for Paradise Camp last week was his first visit to a Miami event in months. One of The Recruiting Rules is “follow the visits”. and I’m afraid that told the story here. Many of us had been waiting for Anaele to drop based on his lack of visits and connection to the Canes’ program, and that has come to pass.
Miami now holds 18 commitments in the 2020 recruiting class. There are other DE prospects on the board, and Miami has varying levels of connection to them at this time.
In the end, we respect recruits’ decisions, and wish Samuel Anaele the best in his future endeavors.
