Miami vs Penn State has always produced memorable moments. Whether it was the infamous 1986 Fiesta Bowl, 1979, 1991 or even 2001. 1991 was another example of this, when the defending champion Hurricanes visited State College.

Ranked #2 in the country, Miami knew they would have their hands full with #5 Penn State.

The Canes led 10-7 in the third quarter, and the Nittany Lions were trying to claw their way back with QB John Sacca, who hadn’t thrown an interception in 131 pass attempts.

Miami’s junior defensive end Darren Krein put an end to that streak, and picked off Sacca thanks to the pressure from Jessie Armstead, running it back for a touchdown. UM won the game 17-14.

GO CANES!
