Good Morning Canes Fam.

State of Declarations

The season opener is approaching fast for Hurricanes Football. State of the U’s Marshall Thomas examines the matchup in the trenches between Miami’s front-seven and Florida’s offensive line.

NBA Summer League is well underway, with former Hurricanes grabbing headlines in the preliminary round. Our own Todd Forrest shines a spotlight on ProCane Bruce Brown, who dropped a triple-double for the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.

There are plenty of questions surrounding Miami’s offense in the coming months. However, the tight end position is not one of them. SOTU’s Justin Dottavio shines a spotlight on Brevin Jordan, Will Mallory and Michael Irvin II in the latest instalment of our position preview series.

Current 2020 OL commit Antonio Smith remains steadfast in his commitment to the Hurricanes. The prospect details his motivation to become a Cane in an interview with our own Marshall Thomas.

The 100 Greatest Plays in Miami History continues. For play #43, Marshall takes a look at Darren Krein’s pick-six against Penn State.

Evan Hadrick highlights Miami’s veteran along the offensive line. Navaughn Donaldson will be counted on to anchor a young group.

Duke Johnson Finds a new Agent

Earlier this week it was confirmed that Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson parted ways with his agent. On Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Johnson has signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus.

It’s been a busy couple of months for the former Hurricanes running back. Johnson was chided by Browns QB Baker Mayfield after voicing his desire to be traded during Browns’ minicamp.

Deon Bush Holds Camp

Before he heads back up north to begin training camp with the Chicago Bears, safety Deon Bush is set to hold his camp this Saturday in Bel-aire Park.

MBB set to Compete in the Charleston Classic

Hurricanes Basketball is set to take part in the Charleston Classic this fall. The Canes draw Missouri State in the tourney opener.

The eight-team field is made up of Miami, Missouri State, Florida, Xaiver, Saint Joseph’s, Towson, Buffalo and Connecticut.

The Hurricanes have won each of their previous two appearances in The Classic (2009 and 2014).
