When you think of playmakers that Miami’s had on defense in the last 15-years, one of those players named has to be safety Jaquan Johnson. In 2017 and 2018, Johnson was the leader for the Hurricanes defense, and made plays and created moments time and time again.
This is actually Jaquan’s second appearance in the top-100 countdown, with his pick-six against Virginia at #85.
I've talked about the LB duo of Quarterman and Pinckney for the #Canes. Don't get me wrong, they're good but Jaquan Johnson is the best player on that defense and he might be the best safety in college football, right now. pic.twitter.com/2qdXaI3rXY

Now for his second play, we go back two weeks prior to that UVA game, when #10 Miami hosted #13 Virginia Tech, in a primetime showdown at Hard Rock Stadium to decide the ACC Coastal.
With less than a minute in the third-quarter, the Hokies were at the Canes 34-yard line with Miami leading 21-10 and Tech was facing a 4th-and-3.
Whether it’s Chris Fowler on the call or @canesvoice it’s a special play https://t.co/afgV9LYJOX pic.twitter.com/XCHDSwSCtP

Johnson stepped up again, snagging an incredible one-handed interception off Hokie quarterback Josh Jackson. Behind Johnson and the dominating Miami defense, the Hurricanes won the game 28-10.
GO CANES!
