Good morning and happy Saturday Canes fam!

As the days tick closer to Week 0 and the Miami Hurricanes meeting the Florida Gators, we’ll continue to give you all the news, notes and opinions you could ask for. So without further ado, let’s get to it.

Around The Site

We’re all the way to #35 on our 100 greatest plays in Miami history! The 35th best moment is from back in ‘81, when Fred Marion picked off Penn State QB Todd Blackledge to seal a win against the #1-ranked Nittany Lions.

We might still be in the dog days of summer but it’s never too early for film room! This week, Justin Dottavio is breaking down the brand-new Georgia Tech offense and what to expect from their change in scheme.

Another year opening at a neutral site, another visitor’s guide. Orlando isn’t quite the trip that Arlington, Texas was - but we’re still hooking you up with all the best places to eat, drink and enjoy yourself.

Around The Web

As we get closer to naming a starting QB, rumors are certainly swirling about one (or both) of the backups transfering out. Coach Manny Diaz didn’t seem bothered.

Just in case you forgot how good Ed Reed was (and not just in coverage), here’s a reminder.

Speaking of the QB battle, the Sun Sentinel has a great article on some of the soundbites CMD gave regarding Miami finding a starting signal caller. Diaz says that he hopes to have a no. 1 picked out in the next two or three weeks.

Over at the Miami Herald, they take a look at Shaq Quarterman saying the new strength and conditioning system is turning guys into “monsters” - we’ll see if that pans out on the field. They’re also breaking down more of what CMD had to say at media day, including how he “happily” is setting up #TNM with high expectations. And speaking of expectations, you can see what I think about where the fanbase should set them for this coming season.

And that’s all for today Cane’s fans, remember...

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE U!
