100 Greatest Plays In Miami History: #32-Vinny Testaverde Scramble Against Oklahoma 1986

Vinny scrambled right, and then left, barely escaping with his jersey.

Florida State Seminoles v Miami Hurricanes

The 1986 Miami Hurricanes were one of the finest teams in school history, and perhaps their best moment of that season came in week-four, when the #1 Oklahoma Sooners invaded the Orange Bowl.

Miami, led by quarterback, and Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde, jumped all over Brian Bosworth and the Sooners early. Early in the game with the score still 0-0, Vinny gave college football fans, and Miami fans especially, a play and a moment that we’ll never forget.

Later on that drive, following that remarkable scramble, Testaverde found Alfredo Roberts for the games first touchdown. The #2 Hurricanes defeated the Sooners that day, 28-16.
