Standing 6’1” 203lbs, Austin-Cave is well built for his role as a sideline to sideline LB. He tested very well at The Opening regional, clocking 4.76 in the 40, 4.53 in the short shuttle, and a 33.9” vertical leap. In all, that’s a strong athletic profile for a player who uses that athleticism to great effect on the field.
An incredibly productive player, Austin-Cave stars for Camden, a State Runner-Up last season. Austin-Cave helped lead the Panthers to the State Championship game with a massive season: 162 tackles, 18 TFLs, 1 sack, 3 PBUs, and 1 FF. In a 12 game HSFB season, Austin-Cave averaged 13.5 tackles per game en route to 1st team All-State honors.
For his recruitment, Austin-Cave took official visits to Miami, Minnesota, and West Virginia. Ranked the #22 ILB in the country and the #15 player in New Jersey this cycle, Austin-Cave picked Miami over the other listed schools and a robust offer list of 19 schools.
Austin-Cave is the 3rd LB in Miami’s 2020 recruiting class. He joins 3-stars Alvin Mathis and Corey Flagg at this position in this class for the Canes.
