Well it’s official, the Hurricanes and the Florida Gators will be playing again, just not for another five years. Brett McMurphy reported today that UM and UF have agreed to a home-and-home series in 2024 and 2025. The first of the games will be played in Gainesville, then in Miami in 2025.

This will be the first time since 2002-03 that the Canes and Gators have played in consecutive seasons. The two schools will open the 2019 season next Saturday, and haven’t played each other since 2013.
Once a storied rivalry, these two schools played annually from 1944 until 1987, battling for the Seminole War Canoe Trophy. Though, they didn’t play again until 2000. Hopefully this is the start of the rivalry being played every year again.
