High school football in South Florida and around the country has officially kicked off and several Miami Hurricane verbal commitments and targets will be playing on the ESPN family of networks this weekend.
Miami Central features two 2021 Hurricane verbal commitments in offensive lineman Laurence Seymore and linebacker Chamon Metayer.
Seymore, Metayer and his Rocket teammates will host Baltimore (Md.) Saint Frances Academy on Saturday at noon at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
Saint Frances is led by Alabama verbal commit Chris Braswell, a 5-star defensive end according to 247Sports and safety Jordan Toles, a 4-star according to 247Sports who is committed to LSU.
Saint Frances is ranked No.6 in the USA Today Preseason Super 25 while Miami Central is ranked No.15.
In addition to Miami Central 2021 duo, Quentin Williams (2020 Mallard Creek defensive end), Xavier Restrepo (2020 Deerfield Beach wide receiver) and other Cane targets will be playing on an ESPN station this weekend.

Class of 2020 Verbal Commitments
Quarterback
Tyler Van Dyke, Suffield (Ct.) Academy: According to MaxPreps, Van Dyke and Suffield don’t open their season until September 21.
Running Back
Don Chaney, Miami Belen Jesuit: Chaney rushed for a touchdown on Wednesday night in Belen’s 41-7 loss to rival Miami Columbus. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports reported that Chaney finished the game with 61 yards on 17 carries but left in the third quarter with cramps and did not return.
Wide Receivers
Michael Redding III, Bradenton IMG Academy: The Ascenders, ranked No.7 in the USA Today Preseason Super 25, will travel to take on Venice tonight at 7:30pm at Venice High School.
Marcus Fleming, Miami Northwestern: The Bulls will open the season on the road at Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons at 7:30pm tonight.
Xavier Restrepo, Deerfield Beach: Restrepo will open his senior season in a classic Broward vs. Dade matchup when Deerfield Beach takes on Carol City on Saturday at 4pm at Traz Powell Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
Tight End
Dominic Mammarelli, Naples: The Golden Eagles will open the season with a road game at Sarasota Riverview tonight at 7:30pm.
Offensive Line
Jalen Rivers, Orange Park Oakleaf: Oakleaf will open the season on the road tonight at 7pm against rival Orange Park.
Antonio Smith, Ocala Vanguard: Vanguard defeated Gainesville on Thursday night 33-15 to open the season 1-0.
Chris Washington, Nashville (Tn.) Overton: The Bobcats take on Hendersonville (Tn.) Pope John Paul II tonight at 7pm.
Defensive Line
Chantz Williams, Orange Park Oakleaf: Oakleaf will open the season on the road tonight at 7pm against rival Orange Park.
Willie Moise, Hollywood Cheminade-Madonna: The defending Class 3A state champion Lions open the season with Hollywood McArthur tonight at 7pm.
Elijah Roberts, Miami Columbus: Roberts served as a captain for the Explorers in their 41-7 blow out victory over rival Miami Belen Jesuit.
Tre’von Riggins, St. Petersburg Lakewood: The Spartans open the season with rival St. Petersburg tonight at home at 7pm.
Quentin Williams, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek: Williams and his Mallard Creek teammates will take on Dutch Fork (S.C.) tonight at 6pm. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Romello Height, Dublin (Ga.): Dublin will open the season with Twin City (Ga.) Emanuel County Institute tonight at 7:30pm.
Tirek Austin-Cave, Camden (N.J.): According to MaxPreps, Camden does not open the regular season until September 6.
Alvin Mathis, Largo: The Packers play their first regular season game tonight on the road against Braden River at 7:30pm.
Corey Flagg, Houston (Tx.) North Shore: North Shore will take on Katy (Tx.) on Thursday, August 29 at 7pm on ESPNU in both teams’ season opener.
