In the opening game of the 2004 season, the #5 Hurricanes hosted the #6 Florida State Seminoles, on a humid Friday night in front of a jam-packed Orange Bowl.
Thanks to Devin Hester blocking a field goal several minutes earlier, Miami’s offense still had time to comeback and force overtime, though they trailed 10-3 late in the fourth quarter, and they hadn’t done much of anything offensively that night.
Though, quarterback Brock Berlin drove the Canes down to the FSU 30-yard line with 41 seconds left.

Sinorice Moss, brother of UM great Santana Moss, took a screen underneath from Berlin, found blockers, and bolted to the end zone for a touchdown. Miami won the game in overtime, 16-10.
