It was 10-10 in overtime, the #5 Miami Hurricanes were in a fierce battle with their arch rivals, the #6 Florida State Seminoles. In a defensive struggle, UM had tied the game with under a minute to go in regulation, thanks to quarterback Brock Berlin and wide receiver Sinorice Moss.

After a fumble by FSU quarterback Chris Rix in the first possession of overtime, the Hurricanes had the ball and a chance to not only win the game, but increase their streak over the Noles to six games.

The 18-yard dash to the end zone by Frank Gore won the game for the Canes and set off the sold-out Orange Bowl crowd. Miami wins, 16-10.
