The group of Miami Hurricane fans that go to sleep at a reasonable hour likely missed some breaking news out of California late Monday night — 2021 5-star quarterback Jake Garcia committed to the USC Trojans.
Garcia was a Miami target that had been on campus twice this past off-season and seemed extremely interested in the Hurricanes.
Cam Underwood has the story here:

Speaking of quarterbacks, Jarren Williams was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. The Miami quarterback threw for 250 yards on 71 percent passing in Saturdays win over Central Michigan.
He also became the first quarterback in program history to throw zero interceptions in his first 100 pass attempts as a Hurricanes quarterback, which was first reported by Tim Reynolds of the AP.

The ACC also announced that Miami’s next game against Virginia Tech on Oct. 5 will begin at 3:30 p.m. on either ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2. That means no need to fear if you don't have access to the ACC Network. You’re safe — for now.
In Canes basketball news, the nations #46 player and #8 point guard, Andrew Curbelo, put the Miami Hurricanes in his top five, along with Indiana, Illinois, Oregon, and St. John’s.

Curbelo is a member of the Puerto Rican national basketball team and the lone analyst that has put in a “FutureCast” for his talents on Rivals.com has him heading to Miami.
The last time there was a Puerto Rican point guard in Miami very, very good things happened for the program. If Angel Rodriguez is any inspiration to Curbelo at all, which I’m sure he is, you have to love Miami’s chances here.
