Welcome back to the SB Nation and State of the U FanPulse Top 25 rankings!

SB Nation put the call out to fans from all CFB team sites to rank their top 25, and here’s the results after week 5.

OH WAIT!!! THERE’S A NEW NUMBER ONE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!

Clemson has looked kinda mortal? this year, while the Alabama Death Machine has been operating at peak performance. I mean, when you have your 4th (?) best WR set school records for receiving yards and TDs in a game such as Devonta Smith (yeah, you know him, he’s the one Miami was recruiting until he just......didn’t show up for a scheduled OV to Coral Gables) did in the last game, I think it’s fair that you ascend to the #1 spot.

As for Miami, the chance to get back into the top 25 could be in a couple of weeks. The Canes host a reeling Virginia Tech team this week before hosting top-25 ranked Virginia next FRIDAY for a key ACC Coastal game. But we’ll talk more about that in the future.

As for our SOTU top 25, we’ll have that for you shortly. Technical difficulties. It happens.

UPDATE: here it is:

But, what we do have is this week’s confidence poll. It’s about the same as last week, with 68% of respondents being confident in the direction of the program. Winning some games, like these upcoming ACC Coastal games against VT, UVa, and Georgia Tech over the next 3 weeks at home, would be a step in the right direction, and help increase the confidence poll results, I’m sure. Anyway, here it is:

That’s it. No long talk this week. I mean, the Canes are coming off a bye and still 2-2. If things are going to change, it’s going to start with game results, hopefully WINNING GAMES, starting this Saturday.
