Miami Hurricanes recruit schedule—Week 3

Miami Northwestern/Bradenton IMG game features five Hurricane verbal commitments

Five Miami Hurricane verbal commitments will be on the same field tonight as Miami Northwestern hosts Bradenton IMG Academy at 7:30pm at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami.

Two 2020 wide receiver commitments—IMG’s Michael Redding III and Northwestern’s Marcus Fleming—and three Northwestern 2021 recruits in wide receiver Kahlil Brantley, wide receiver Romello Brinson and defensive back Tim Burns Jr. are all expected to play tonight for their respective teams.

IMG (1-0) is ranked fifth in MaxPreps’ Xcellent 25 while Northwestern (2-0) is ranked No.15 in this national poll. The Bulls have not surrendered a point in two games, while the Ascenders scored 46 in their season-opening victory over Venice two weeks ago.

Class of 2020 Verbal Commitments

Quarterback

Tyler Van Dyke, Suffield (Ct.) Academy: According to MaxPreps, Van Dyke and Suffield don’t open their season until September 21.

Running Back

Donald Chaney, Miami Belen Jesuit: Chaney and the Wolverines are looking for their first win of the season tonight against at home against Doral Academy at 7:30pm.

Wide Receivers

Michael Redding III, Bradenton IMG Academy: IMG will travel to play Miami Northwestern in a highly-anticipated matchup tonight at 7:30pm.

Marcus Fleming, Miami Northwestern: Northwestern will be tested tonight against Bradenton IMG Academy at 7:30pm.

Xavier Restrepo, Deerfield Beach: The Bucks have a bye week after starting the season 0-2 with losses to Miami Carol City and St. John’s from Washington D.C.

Tight End

Dominic Mammarelli, Naples: Naples topped Luther Campbell’s Miami Edison team 17-12 at home last week to move to 2-0. Uncle Luke had some interesting things to say about the game’s officiating post-game. The Golden Eagles host Miami Monsignor Pace tonight at 7:30pm.

Offensive Line

Jalen Rivers, Orange Park Oakleaf: Oakleaf will take on Orange Park Ridgeview on Monday at 6pm in a game that was originally scheduled to be played on Friday night but was rescheduled because of Hurricane Dorian.

Antonio Smith, Ocala Vanguard: Vanguard will hit the road to play Jacksonville Sandalwood tonight at 7pm.

Chris Washington, Nashville (Tn.) Overton: The Bobcats will take on Smyrna (Tn.) tonight at home at 7pm.

Defensive Line

Chantz Williams, Orange Park Oakleaf: Williams had five tackles, four sacks and an interception in Oakleaf’s 21-19 loss to Lake City Columbia last week. Oakleaf will take on Orange Park Ridgeview on Monday at 6pm in a game that was originally scheduled to be played on Friday night but was rescheduled because of Hurricane Dorian.

Willie Moise, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna: The Lions will look to move to 3-0 when they play Miami Christian in their home opener tonight at 7pm.

Elijah Roberts, Miami Columbus: The Explorers will take on Homestead South Dade in a battle of unbeatens at Tropical Park in Miami tonight at 7:30pm.

Tre’von Riggins, St. Petersburg Lakewood: Lakewood has outscored opponents 88-0 in two wins this season. The Spartans take on rival St. Petersburg Gibbs tonight at 7:30pm at Gibbs.

Quentin Williams, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek: The Mavericks will take on Mint Hill (N.C.) Rocky River on the road tonight at 7pm.

Linebackers

Romello Height, Dublin (Ga.): The Fighting Irish host Swainsboro (Ga.) off a bye week tonight at 7:30pm.

Tirek Austin-Cave, Camden (N.J.): The Panthers will host Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township tonight at 6pm in their season opener.

Alvin Mathis, Largo: Largo will hit the road to face Pinellas Park tonight at 7:30pm in search of a 3-0 record.

Corey Flagg, Houston (Tx.) North Shore: Flagg made 20 tackles last week in North Shore’s season-opening loss to Katy. North Shore bounced back and earned its first victory of the season on Thursday night over Missouri City (Tx.) Ridge Point 38-7.

Defensive Backs

Jaiden Francois, Homestead South Dade: The Buccaneers take on Columbus on the road tonight at 7:30pm.

Keshawn Washington, Homestead South Dade: The Buccaneers take on Columbus on the road tonight at 7:30pm.

Daran Branch, Amite (La.): The Warriors host Lutcher (La.) tonight in search of their first victory of the season.

Marcus Clarke, Winter Park: The Wildcats will look for their first win of the season on the road against Orlando Freedom tonight at 7pm.

Justin Hodges, Davie Western: Western takes on Miami Springs tonight at 7pm.

Dazalin Worsham, Trussville (Al.) Hewitt-Trussville: The Huskies will take on Birmingham (Al.) Oak Mountain on the road tonight at 7pm.

Darnell Washington, Desert Pines (Nv.): The Jaguars will take on Logan (Ut.) on Saturday at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.

Issiah Walker Jr., Miami Norland: The Vikings earned their first victory of the season Thursday night with a 32-7 win over Hialeah American.

Marcus Dumervil, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas: The Raiders have a bye week this week before taking on South Plantation on September 13.

Cayden Baker, Fort Myers: The Green Wave will travel to take on Fort Myers Cypress Lake tonight at 7:30pm.

Frederick Eaford, Hialeah: According to the Miami Herald, Eaford caught a 37-yard touchdown in his team’s 34-13 loss to Miami Palmetto on Thursday night.

Kahlil Brantley, Miami Northwestern: Northwestern will be tested tonight against Bradenton IMG Academy at 7:30pm.

Offensive Line

Laurence Seymore, Miami Central: Central will take on Miami Carol City on Saturday at 7pm at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami.

Defensive Line

Savion Collins, Miami Palmetto: Palmetto bounced back from a loss last week with a 34-13 victory over Hialeah on Thursday night.

Linebackers

Chamon Metayer, Miami Central: Central will take on Miami Carol City on Saturday at 7pm at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami.

Tyler Johnson, Homestead South Dade: The Buccaneers take on Columbus on the road tonight at 7:30pm.

Cortez McKenzie, St. Petersburg Lakewood: The Spartans blew out rival St. Petersburg 48-0 to open the season. They will take on Largo Pinellas Park tonight at 7:30pm.
