In the recruiting world... it is important to add a new QB in each class. For Miami, who has struggled to find a reliable QB, they really must expand their boundaries. In recent years, Miami has not done an amazing job in utilizing QB’s. We have had plenty of years of players under performing at the position.

However... things may be different now

A coach who runs an offense that scores points, improves Oline play, gets the ball to the talent, and is player friendly.... we might actually have an offense. No one knows who will be sitting In the QB room come spring, but there will be changes. I expect 2 QB’s to transfer, and they should get a fresh start elsewhere. I anticipate to see Tate Martell staying in Miami, and learn from Rhett Lashlee. I am excited to see Tyler Van Dyke to get used to college speed and the playbook. Miami also has the chance of landing a transfer Qb, and with LSU losing Joe Brady, this increases the likelihood of D’Eriq King coming down south.

No matter who is apart of our Qb room next year, we must be ready to add more talent come 2021. Miami’s new OC, Rhett Lashlee, has not been shy and has offered some former recruits in the state of Texas. With the latest offer going to Texas powerhouse North Shore High School, Dematrious Davis, Miami seems to be interested in the Dual Threat play style.

One of his former teammates, Corey Flagg, just Early Enrolled at Miami just a few days ago. With Corey Flagg showing signs of bleeding Orange and Green, I wouldn't be surprised if he has been hyping up the possible flip to Miami. Just recently, The Virginia Tech Head Coach has been linked to the opening at Baylor, which would be a win-win for Miami.

In his Junior year he managed to get 2,672 passing yards, 1,446 rushing yards, 54 total touchdowns, 15-1 record, and became a 2x State Champion. When he plays, he is a shifty QB who moves well in the pocket and displays a great touch on the ball. He has the ability to throw it 50 yards in the bread basket, or can take it 50 yards. He is an exceptional talent who ranks as the 4th best DT QB.

He would be a huge boost to our roster and will add elite competition to the position. It will be tough to land Dematrious Davis, but that can quickly change if we start winning some football games. Our team must show consistency and excel at every unit on the roster.
