Miami Hurricanes 2022 defensive line recruit Brandon Cleveland was impressive in his team’s blowout victory last Friday.

Cleveland amassed three sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble in Tampa-Carrollwood Day’s 59-18 victory over Winter Haven-Akelynn’s Angels Christian Academy.

Cleveland, who chose Miami over Florida State according to 247sports.com, now has six sacks and two forced fumbles in six games this season for 4-2 Carrollwood Day.

Cleveland and Carrollwood Day have a huge matchup against undefeated Tampa-Cambridge Christian on Friday night.

Elsewhere, 2021 kicker recruit Andres Borregales was 6-for-6 on touchbacks for Hialeah Champagnat Catholic in its 33-27 victory over Delray Beach-American Heritage.

Plantation-American Heritage lost its first game of the season last Friday night 3-0 to Jacksonville-Trinity Christian. 2021 5-star recruit James Williams spent most of the night playing deep safety for the Patriots.

Hollywood-Chaminade-Madonna topped Clearwater Academy International 44-34 last Friday night. 2021 running back verbal commitment Thad Franklin was responsible for multiple touchdowns for the Lions.

No final statistics were immediately available for Franklin.

Many Hurricane verbal commitments will begin their seasons this week as Dade and Broward public schools can finally begin play this weekend.
