This past Saturday was the 1st weekend where the entire conference was in action. We had a few big upsets, a few almost upsets and one team showing they are so much better than the rest of the ACC, that it is almost comical. Miami did exactly what they were supposed to do in a home game vs Pitt, and now the race for second becomes more interesting in the next few weeks.
Here is the Week 7 Power Rankings
1. Clemson (5-0) - 73-7 vs Georgia Tech. Trevor Lawrence threw for 404 yards in the 404. It is comical how much better they are than the rest of the conference. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs Syracuse
2. Notre Dame (4-0) - It was an absolute struggle 12-7 over Louisville. Ian Book only threw for 106 yards as the Irish offense struggled to do much of anything. Next Game Saturday 3:30PM @ Pittsburgh
3. Miami (4-1) - The Canes played stifling defense in a 31-19 victory over Pitt. The Canes held the Panthers to just 22 yards on the ground. Next Game Saturday 8:00PM vs Virginia
4. Virginia Tech (3-1) -Hendon Hooker is back and so is the Hokies offense. Hooker accounted for 164 yards on the ground and an additional 111 through the air in a 40-14 win over BC. Next Game Saturday 3:30PM @ Wake Forest
5. North Carolina St (4-1) - The Wolfpack were able to rally from 10-0 down to win 31-20 vs Duke. The painful part was potentially losing starting QB Devin Leary in the process. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM @ North Carolina
6. North Carolina (3-1) - You can’t lose to this year’s Florida St. team, but UNC did just that. The Tar Heels fell down 31-7 and tried to battle back until a couple of dropped passes doomed them. Next Game Saturday 12:00 vs NC St
7. Boston College (3-2) Phil Jurkovec threw for 345 yards and 2 TDs but it wasn’t near enough as BC was steamrolled by VT. The Eagles allowed 350 yards on the ground in defeat. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM vs Georgia Tech
8. Pittsburgh (3-3) - No shame in losing to Miami without your starting QB. Pitt stayed close for most of the game but just couldn’t muster enough offense. Next Game Saturday 3:30PM vs Notre Dame
9. Georgia Tech (2-3) - 73-7 is flat out embarrassing, but GT is making strides to respectability in other games. Next Game Saturday 4:00PM @ Boston College
10. Florida St (2-3) - The Seminoles jump up in the latest rankings by way of their 31-28 victory over UNC. Jordan Travis came in and provided a spark for the Seminoles offense. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM @ Louisville
11. Wake Forest (2-2) The Demon Deacons picked up a quality 40-23 win over Virginia. Sam Hartman threw for 309 yards and a score in the win. Next Game Saturday 3:30PM vs Virginia Tech
12. Virginia (1-3) - UVA fell to Wake Forest 40-23, but may have QB Brennan Armstrong back this week. They also played Clemson closer than anyone which has to count for something. Next Game saturday 8:00PM @ Miami
13. Louisville (1-4) - What happened to the Cardinals? This time they lost for the 4th straight game 12-7 to Notre Dame. Next Game Saturday 12:00PM vs FSU
14. Duke (1-4) - At least Duke led 10-0 before watching NC St rally for the victory. Duke will get a much needed bye before their next game. Next Game October 31st vs Charlotte
15. Syracuse (1-3) - 38-21 to Liberty? 520 yards of offense allowed? Time for the Dino Babers era to come to an end. Next Game 12:00PM @ Clemson
