The Dark Side and The Bright Side

Not sure how you felt watching the Virginia game but I mostly felt uneasy. I really thought this game wouldn't have been as close as it was. Nonetheless it is what it is and Canes are at the halfway mark of the season at 5 - 1 and a Top 25 ranking. Like everything else, there is a dark side and a bright side.

The Dark Side

It's been mostly agony being a Cane fan the past 15 years. With that agony there can be low expectations and here we go again thinking. Although the Canes are 5 - 1, only two games have been impressive. The Virginia game had that sneaky feeling that one bad play and this is a loss. Since Clemson, the team has just looked average. The run game wasn't strong last night. The defense certainly wasn't stellar (so it seems). The game just felt like blah and meh except for a few stellar plays. Scoring just 19 points against a team that gives up a whole lot of points just doesn't feel right. For the remainder of the season, I am just flat out nervous. NC State is on deck. They blew Virginia out 38 - 21.

The Bright Side

As bad as the Virginia game felt, Canes won and UVA only scored 14 points. That is excellent scoring defense. Canes are 5 - 1. Canes are ranked. Compare that to the debacle that was 2019. Canes have a bye week and it couldn't have come at a more opportune time. Three of the five remaining opponents are ranked. Three of the five remaining games are away. This is the time to regroup and get the details right. Damn it, I believe Canes can do it!
